We just delivered 5,500 pounds of seafood around Colorado this past week. It was right on the fringe of winter but we got to you in the knick of time. We decided to try something new this season and we think it worked exceptionally well. Thank you all for using our sign up method to pick up. I was pleased with […]
This week is the anniversary of the Sisters of Skimo film that premiered last season at the 10 Mile Music Hall in Frisco. In the wake of COVID, its film tour schedule was abruptly halted. The premier was a huge success last season; I loved seeing so much of our community come together in the name […]
Need some inspo for dinner tonight? This was dinner for us last night and we can’t recommend it enough. Pesto is a lot easier than you think and it tastes so much better when made with fresh ingredients. Any leafy green paired with roasted nuts, cheese, olive oil, garlic and voila! Last night we devoured some rockfish enchiladas. Actually this recipe from Alaskan Seafood Marketing Institute originally calls for Halibut but I used Rockfish instead and they turned out great. Any white fish will do. Kids love them and you will too. Easy, yummy, healthy. Enjoy!

You can substitute for Rockfish or any of our white fish […]

Make poke tacos, poke nachos or poke sliders. These make great meals, or appetizers. LOW […]
Navigating travel restrictions and new protocols has not been easy but we were very fortunate to get off the grid and return to Alaska for a month. Eric got to meet my extended family, catch and smoke some of our own subsistence salmon, learn what sea sickness feels like, and enjoy a little bit of […]
Since being married I’ve learned to deal with people who aren’t naturally excited about salads. But there’s hope for everyone, especially if they haven’t experienced a decent salad. My husband has come around to the salad life and usually looks for seconds. In the name of making salads a little more interesting and flavorful, here […]
Many seafood lovers misuse the name “Cod” when referring to Sablefish–including my husband Unfortunately for Sablefish, its nickname is “Blackcod,” which leads many to believe that it is a member of the Cod family.
